How to remove?

1. Moisten the lips:Use your tongue to lightly moisten the area where the tape is applied. This helps soften the adhesive and make it easier to remove without irritation.

2. Pull gently:If there's a tab on the tape, use it to start peeling. Otherwise, gently pull the tape from one side to the other.

3. If needed, use warm water:If the tape is stubborn or causing discomfort, apply warm water to the area. The warmth will help loosen the adhesive.

Why Skindrop-Mouthtape?

Breathe Easy, Sleep Deep

Discover deeper, more restorative sleep with Skindrop Mouth Tape. Designed to gently keep your lips sealed overnight, it promotes healthy nose breathing, reduces snoring, and supports better oxygen flow while you rest. Made with soft, skin-friendly adhesive, Skindrop is comfortable, safe, and easy to use—so you can wake up feeling refreshed and energized, naturally.

The aim of mouth taping is to promote nasal breathing and reduce mouth breathing.
Nasal breathing offers numerous advantages over mouth breathing: it filters, humidifies and warms the inhaled air before it reaches the lungs. As a result, pollutants and allergens are better retained, making the air we breathe cleaner and more tolerable. At the same time, nasal breathing supports calmer, more even breathing - an effect that can have a positive impact on relaxation and sleep quality.
Another benefit: when breathing through the nose, the air is enriched with nitric oxide, a gas produced in the sinuses. This improves gas exchange in the lungs and also has a slight blood pressure-lowering and anxiety-relieving effect.
In contrast, mouth breathing lacks this natural filter mechanism. Particularly during sleep, snoring or interrupted breathing can occur due to the tongue falling back - facilitated by the reduced muscle tone.
Conclusion: Nasal breathing is usually the healthier and physiologically more sensible form of breathing during periods of rest.

FAQ

How does it work? encourages nasal breathing

By sealing your lips, you are forced to breathe through your nose. This promotes better, more productive (and peaceful) sleep for both you -and- your partner.

Is mouth tape reusable? NO

No. For hygiene and effectiveness, mouth tape is single-use and should be discarded after each night.

Will i Suffocate? NO

Our bodies are smarter than we think—if your breathing becomes difficult due to congestion, your natural instincts will wake you up.

Mouth breathing can actually make things worse by triggering blood vessels in the nose to swell and produce more mucus. In contrast, nasal breathing helps reduce congestion and keeps your airways clearer.

Hostage Tape is designed to be breathable—it's porous, allowing small amounts of air to pass through if needed.

If you're unsure about using it at night, try wearing the tape with nasal strips during the day to get comfortable with nasal breathing. Once you're confident you can breathe through your nose, you can start wearing it while you sleep.

Is Mouth Taping Safe for Sleep Apnea? NO

Everyone has unique needs, so we always recommend finding the treatment that works best for you. Mouth tape isn’t for everyone, but many people with mild obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) have found Hostage Tape helpful.

Proper airway function starts with tongue position—the tongue should rest on the roof of the mouth. Mouth breathing often causes the tongue to fall back, potentially blocking the airway. Hostage Tape encourages nasal breathing, which naturally supports better tongue posture and a more open airway.

If you use a CPAP machine, Mouthtape can be used alongside a nasal mask to keep your mouth closed and improve overall effectiveness.
